Congrats to the 9th grade team hopefully the varisty can do the same
VALDOSTA — Valdosta High’s ninth grade football team dominated crosstown rival Lowndes on Tuesday, winning 46-6 at Martin Stadium.
It was the Wildcats’ second win of the year over the Vikings.
“It was an all-around good night for the black-and-gold,†Valdosta ninth grade head coach Justin Henderson said. “Except for one play, our defense was lights out … I’m very proud of our defense, and our offensive line. Our offensive line played their best game of the season.â€
Valdosta’s Nelson Herring ran for two touchdowns and an estimated 140 yards. Malcolm Joseph ran for a 20-yard touchdown and caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Mac Loudermilk. Loudermilk threw three touchdown passes, one to Joseph and two to Alex Cason, and also threw a two-point conversion pass to Kenny Folsom.
Valdosta’s defense recorded two safeties.
Valdosta, which is now 5-0, travels to Ware County next Tuesday.
Sounds like coaching to me. Hats off to the ninth grade head coach for dominating the Vikings once again.
There’s just something about those guys that wore #64 for the Cats, I donno why but they always turn out to be football geniuses and superior dentists (and sometimes both).
I think the TD pass with 3-5 mins to go running 4 verticals was a touch of class as well.
